... enumerate its glories and expose the merits of
it, with few words and a lot of ideas; … let's say therefore that the island of Sicily is the pearl of the century for abundance and beauties… here come from everywhere the travellers and the traders of cities and
metropolises, all exalting it,… they praise its splendid beauty
…

Syracuse, the ancient and most powerful city of Great Greece, allows, more than other cities of Sicily, to spend a sojourn during which culture and tourism are perfectly combined.
Rich of important testimonies of its past, e.g. the Greek theatre, the temple of Apollo, the cathedral, it is characterized by its small historical centre, the islet of Ortigia, the island in the
island.
The extremely suggestive
atmosphere, the alleys, the buildings and the churches of this concentration of history and beauty, make the vacation pleasant and
unforgettable.

The climate is pleasantly mild and almost always sunny for a good part of the
year, and it is very pleasant to walk for the quite historical center, partly closed to the
traffic.
In the little beach and in the cliffs of Ortigia you can sunbath or
swim, just a few steps away from the famous Aretusa fountain. Beautiful beaches and cliffs are also easily attainable with public or private
means.

In the centre of this islet our association has its centre and here the courses take
place, in an informal ambience that facilitates a non scholastic approach to
the foreing language, according to the didactic policy of our courses:
learning to converse and communicate in close contact with the local
life-style, culture and history.
